About the role

At PDI we are looking for an Intern – Climate, Business & Peace to support the activities of our teams working on Climate-Resilient Entrepreneurship, business incubation, investment development, and fundraising. This is a dynamic, fast-paced position with exposure to different tasks a wide range of opportunities for learning.

We are looking for someone based in Geneva and region, legally allowed to take up an internship programme (must be enrolled in an educational programme related to the position) preferably for a full-time position for 3 months with possibility of extension.

Estimated start date: 1st April 2025.

Your responsibilities

Thematic support on Climate, Business, Impact Investing, and Peace:

  • Support PDI in developing innovative peace and environmental impact investment solutions in partnership with leading Geneva-based investment partners.
  • Support with application processes for international donors, including technical proposals on investments and business development.
  • Collaborate in the development of strategies and assessments, operationalising PDI’s Climate-Resilient Entrepreneurship (CRE) programme.
  • Draft strategic analysis, briefings, reports, and presentations on the role of peace-supporting businesses in conflict-prone regions, as well as business’ climate adaptation and mitigation, particularly in climate hotspots.

Operational and Administrative Support:

  • Draft reports comprising the activities, operations, and dialogues developed by PDI, to be shared with public authorities, donors, and other interested parties.
  • Assist in the logistics and setting up of meetings, liaising with external partners and service providers.
  • Support with the engagement and outreach of partners and donors, prepare documents, proposals, and follow up.

What are we looking for?

  • A last-year Masters or MBA student in the fields of Business Development, Business Management, Asset Management and Impact Investing, and Economics.
  • Based in the Geneva area – this is a hybrid opportunity with 3 mandatory days of office attendance per week.
  • Fluent in English (fluency in Spanish will be an asset).
  • Fantastic writing and advanced PowerPoint skills, capable of producing sharp documents and presentations.
  • Previous experience in the impact investing world will be a strong advantage.
  • Familiarity with the relationship between climate change, businesses, and conflicts is a major asset.
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong ownership, dependable, and entrepreneurial spirit.
  • Growth mindset and hands-on attitude.
  • Interest in harnessing the power of business to achieve peace and social impact.
