About the role

At PDI we are looking for a Venture Developer to join our Peace Impact Venture Builder. The Venture Developer plays a key role in supporting both the Admissions and Venture Development coordinators in screening new candidates and supporting on-going projects to succeed in their missions. We are looking for someone Barcelona-based for a full-time position.

Your responsibilities

  • Identify and screen potential businesses for the Incubation program together with the Venture Admissions Coordinator.
  • Support the initial assessment phase to pre-select businesses for next stages of the admission process.
  • Support the due-diligence process of pre-selected businesses, including the preparation of business plans and analysis of economic viability.
  • Developing project plans outlining objectives, timelines, milestones, and resource allocation.
  • Creating project budgets and managing expenses together with the Venture Development Coordinator.
  • Overseeing day-to-day operations of the assigned incubated projects. Deploying technical support to portfolio businesses and reporting.
  • Tracking the progress of participating projects against predefined metrics and milestones and preparing reports and presentations summarising key achievements, challenges, and outcomes.
  • Developing strategies for transitioning projects out of the incubation program to become self-sustainable and into the broader marketplace.
  • Cultivating relationships with external partners such as investors, corporations, government agencies, and educational institutions to identify potential collaborations, new project pipeline or donors.

What are we looking for?

  • Barcelona-based.
  • Fluent Spanish and English (additional languages will be a plus).
  • Background in business/economics or similar field (entrepreneurial experience will be a plus).
  • Deep analytical skills, critical thinking and entrepreneurial/business mindset.
  • Good financial modelling skills.
  • Growth mindset and hands-on attitude.
  • Interest in harnessing the power of business to achieve peace and social impact.
  • Availability to travel to countries of operation.
  • Previous internship or work experience is a plus.
